NEW 151 TIMETABLE FROM 6 APRIL 2008

Nu-Venture local bus times change Nu-Venture will retime a number of services from Monday 7 April 2008 , primarily to provide convenient services for holders of Kent and Medway Concessionary Fares free travel passes. Maidstone and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Councils, and Medway Council, participate in the new National Concessionary Bus Fares scheme, which allows free off-peak England-wide off-peak local bus travel to all men and women aged 60 and over. Passes can be used from 0930 until 2300 (0900 start for Medway passholders in their local area); there is no morning restriction at weekends. Contact the council which serves your area if you need more details. Maidstone area – * The 0927 Nu-Venture Bus 13 from Hollingbourne to Maidstone – also serving Leeds , Langley and Otham - will run three minutes later. * Buses on Nu-Venture route 78 from Barming, Queens Road and Shaftesbury Drive are retimed during the morning. Shaftesbury Drive will now be served earlier, at 0941 to Maidstone , returning at 1103 from Maidstone , in response to requests. * The 0900 Nu-Venture Bus 79 from Palace Wood/Allington to Maidstone will now leave Palace Wood at 0930. * The 0900 Nu-Venture Bus 83 from Park Wood to Maidstone will no longer extend to Maidstone Hospital . * The 0914 Nu-Venture Bus 89 from East Farleigh - via Coxheath, Loose and Maidstone to Maidstone Hospital - will run 16 minutes later. Medway – * On Nu-Venture Bus 192, the 0900 bus from Lodge Hill via Strood to Chatham will now run at 0937. Medway & Malling - Additionally, completely revised timetables for Nu-Venture buses 149 and 151 via the Medway Valley will operate; an hourly Mondays to Saturdays (daytime) and two-hourly Sundays bus 151 will replace the current Arriva 151 service. Bus 123 at Kings Hill will have timetable changes between approx 0930 and 1530, with a departure from Kings Hill/Airfield Estate timed just a little after the 0930 ‘free travel' start. The Tuesdays and Fridays shoppers' bus 53 will be re-timed to start at 0930 and will now provide a new link to the recently-extended Asda at Kings Hill from West Peckham, Mereworth and Airfield Estate.

 

BUSES 123 AND 151 FROM MONDAY 17 MARCH 2008 To meet continuing substantial and unavoidable rises in fuel and other costs, many single, return and weekly bus fares on Nu-Venture bus services 123 and 151 will increase from Monday 17 March 2008 . The discounted rate weekly ticket between Kings Hill and West Malling Station on bus 123 increases to £10, the first price rise for a number of years. Reminder; new timetables are due to be introduced on services 53, 123, 149 and 151 from 6 April.

 

Spring Changes to Nu-Venture Buses From early April 2008 the times of some Nu-Venture buses will be changing. Watch this space for more details... BUS TIME CHANGES – MAIDSTONE, MALLING, MEDWAY SPRING 2007 Nu-Venture is making changes to some of its timetables from Monday 7 April 2008. Many of the changes are designed to assist users of the new, Government-funded national Concessionary Bus Fares scheme administered through local Councils. Under the current Concessionary Bus Fares scheme in Kent & Medway, passes can be used from 9am, with buses on many routes having departure times between 9am and 9.30am. For the future, bus times will be revised on many routes to operate at or slightly after 9.30am, the time from which the new national pass will be available for use. Changes area-by-area are: Maidstone area – * The 0927 Nu-Venture Bus 13 from Hollingbourne to Maidstone – also serving Leeds, Langley and Otham - will run three minutes later. * Buses on Nu-Venture route 78 from Barming, Queens Road and Shaftesbury Drive are retimed during the morning. Medway – * On Nu-Venture Bus 192, the 0900 bus from Lodge Hill via Strood to Chatham will now run at 0937. Medway & Malling Additionally, completely revised timetables for Nu-Venture buses 149 and 151 via the Medway Valley are being designed and details will be available in March. Nu-Venture BUS 123 INFORMATION Starting Monday 28 January 2008, the journey currently timed to depart at 0646 from Asda on service 123 will be retimed to run THREE MINUTES EARLIER at all stops on route, to improve train connections at West Malling Station.
