Working with Kent County Council, and supported by Government Bus Grant Funding, Nu-Venture will operate a number of replacement local bus services from 1 September 2026 to maintain important transport links for residents and students in East Malling, Teston, Wateringbury, Boughton Monchelsea, Chart Sutton, Kingswood, Ulcombe and Grafty Green following changes to existing bus provision.
Kent Travel Saver and Kent Travel Saver 16+ are welcome on Nu-Venture services subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme. Contactless and Cash payments are available on all Nu-Venture buses. Longer-period tickets may be available on our App for some services.

This is a summary of all Nu-Venture bus changes from 1 September:
Nu-Venture bus 4 replaces the previous Ham’s Travel school-times bus 4 between Aylesford/Larkfield/Leybourne and Bennett Memorial School to similar times/route as the previous operation. This service operates under contract to Kent County Council.
4 TimetableNu-Venture bus 4A replaces the previous Brookline bus 4A school-times bus serving East Malling, Teston, Wateringbury and East Peckham connecting with Bus 4 at East Peckham. This service operates under contract to Kent County Council.
4 A TimetableNu-Venture buses 29, 29A and 29B – temporary ‘shoppers’ bus services 29A and 29B in the Peters Village, Wouldham, Burham, Eccles and Aylesford areas were introduced during planned August road works/closures. Bus 29 will now resume operation at its previous times from 1 September. This service operates under contract to Kent County Council.
Nu-Venture bus 60 links Maidstone Hospital, Hermitage Park and Palace Wood with Maidstone Town Centre during peak and midday hours on Mondays to Fridays. There will be minor timetable revisions to this service which operates under contract to Kent County Council.
Nu-Venture bus 75 will link East Malling (Chapman Way) with Larkfield, Maidstone Hospital and Maidstone Town Centre during the middle of the day on Mondays to Fridays. This maintains a bus link for residents of Clare Park in East Malling. See also Nu-Venture school-time buses 570 and 575. Buses 75, 570 and 575 operate under contract to Kent County Council.
75 TimetableNu-Venture buses 77, 770, 771, 772 – the timetable introduced in July on these wholly-commercial services will now continue with only minor changes from 1 September.
Nu-Venture bus 529 - the afternoon school-time Bus 529, operating on a wholly-commercial basis by Nu-Venture, undergoes a very significant change in the afternoon. Passenger numbers using the afternoon through service from Maidstone are insufficient to ensure the continuing viability of the service so its route in Maidstone is being altered in an attempt to increase the overall numbers using the service. It will now commence from Huntsman Lane (Maidstone) at 1536, operating via King Street (1542) and High Street, Maidstone, then London Road (for MGGS/Maplesden Noakes) at 1551, Queens Rd (for Simon Stock and other Oakwood Park schools) at 1554 then via Barming, London Road and Station Road (Aylesford Station 1625) before resuming its current route at Aylesford Village (1633) then as now to Eccles (1637), Burham, Wouldham and Peters Village.
529 TimetableNu-Venture bus 554 linking Leybourne, West Malling, Kings Hill and Huntsman Lane schools is a commercial school-times service. It will be introduced in the mornings to replace Nu-Venture 578 at similar times. No change to afternoon service.
Nu- Venture bus 555 linking Leybourne, West Malling, Kings Hill and Maidstone Grammar School is a school-times commercial service and remains unaltered.
Nu-Venture bus 559 will operate to support scholars and students attending Maidstone schools from Grafty Green (0643), Ulcombe (0650), Kingswood (0656), Chart Sutton (0712) and Boughton Monchelsea (0717). The morning bus 559 part-replaces bus 89 at these places, connecting with Nu-Venture bus 13 and other Maidstone-bound buses at Morrisons, Sutton Road. The afternoon 559 will be similar to discontinued bus 59 and will operate from Chequers Bus Mall at 1612 via Loose, Linton Corner, Boughton Monchelsea, Chart Sutton, Kingswood, Ulcombe and Grafty Green. Bus 559 is operated on a commercial basis by Nu-Venture.
559 TimetableNu-Venture bus 570 linking Wrotham, Clare Park (East Malling) and Maidstone is unaltered. This school-times service operates under contract to Kent County Council.
Nu-Venture bus 575 is introduced to link Clare Park (East Malling) with various schools in Maidstone – see timetable for full details. This school-times service operates under contract to Kent County Council.
575 TimetableNu-Venture bus 578 is withdrawn, replaced in the morning by bus 554 and in the afternoon by Nu-Venture bus 529.
Nu-Venture bus 587 (mornings) and 588R (afternoon). Morning school-times bus 587 and afternoon school-times bus 588R are revised. Bus 588R will now operate both mornings and afternoons and will additionally serve Aylesford, Leybourne Park, Lunsford Park and Lunsford Lane, then West Malling, Kings Hill and Maidstone schools at Oakwood Park and London Road. Afternoon bus 587 is replaced by 588R. Commercial services.
Nu-Venture bus 588 linking Leybourne, West Malling, Kings Hill and Oakwood Park, Maidstone is unaltered. This is a commercial service, operating at school-times only.
Nu-Venture buses W3 and W4 serving Wrotham School – the timetable which operated in July will continue unchanged from September on these school-time services which operate on a commercial basis.
